Il saggio propone una riflessione sulle opinioni di Aristone e Nerazio. Il pensiero dei due giureconsulti è frequentemente accostato nel Digesto, spesso in accordo. Una selezione di frammenti (alcuni molto noti, altri meno discussi) concernenti le manomissioni testamentarie e lo status libertatis consente di verificare l’esistenza di una linea di continuità tra le loro riflessioni seguendo il filo conduttore di interpretazioni che ruotano attorno a una tematica delicata per implicazioni sociali e di politica del diritto.

The essay offers a reflection on the opinions of Aristone and Neratius. The thought of the two jurists is frequently juxtaposed in the Digest, often in agreement. A selection of fragments (some well known, others less discussed) concerning testamentary manumissions and the status libertatis allows us to verify the existence of a line of continuity between their reflections by following the common thread of interpretations that revolve around a delicate issue for social and political implications of law.
